On Grizzly Ground

Episode 4: Cans

Teton County, Wyoming has a new ordinance starting July 1, 2022. Mandatory bear resistant trash cans. The goal is to stop grizzlies from getting into our garbage because bears that can get into garbage, get into trouble.

That’s why Wyoming Wildlife Advocates created a new program called Jackson Hole Bear Solutions. Donations are rolling in from around the country-Washington, Texas, Florida-and they’re adding up quick for cans. There are hundreds of bear resistant trash cans that need to be delivered as fast as possible to make up for lost time and lost bears.

New episodes from the On Grizzly Ground expedition in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem post every Tuesday through October 2022 in partnership with DriveToyota and Vista Outdoor.
